Baylor University Dallas alumni will participate in their fourth alumni Steppin' Out service project when they help out Buckner's Shoes for Orphan Souls project from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 15, at the Buckner Foundation Warehouse, 4520 S. Buckner Blvd. near I-30 in east Dallas.
Baylor volunteers will be helping match, box, categorize and crate thousands of shoes to be shipped overseas for orphaned children. Shoes for Orphan Souls has distributed more than 950,000 pairs of shoes to orphans in more than 30 countries since 1999.
Baylor graduates are familiar with Baylor's on-campus Steppin' Out community service organization and are continuing the service tradition by volunteering their time to projects in their own communities. A summer project on Aug. 7 will benefit the North Texas Food Bank.
