Former Texas Governor and Baylor President Pat Morris Neff unveiled this impressive cowboy statue on the grounds of the Texas State Capitol in Austin on Jan. 17, 1925. Neff, who served two terms as Texas Governor in the 1920s and as president of Baylor from 1932-47, was instrumental in securing the statue as a tribute to the Texas cowboy. It was created by Constance Whitney Warren, a New York-born artist, who lived in Paris, France. (Alan Hunt photo)
