August 14, 1995

WACO, Texas-Baylor University officials have concluded their meeting with the NCAA's Committee on Infractions, and President Robert B. Sloan Jr. said today the university now awaits the final ruling concerning the men's basketball situation.
"We concluded our meetings late Friday, and we feel like we presented our case in as thorough a manner as possible," Sloan said Monday.
"We cannot get into specifics as to what was discussed, but in general, I can say that the meeting went about as we had expected. We were honest and forthright."
Sloan said it could be "anywhere from four to six weeks before the final disposition of the case is made. We are hoping to get the NCAA's final ruling as soon as possible so we can put the matter behind us and move forward."
