Baylor ShowTime! Will Perform Spring Show April 9-10

Baylor ShowTime!, a 13-member group of singers, dancers and instrumentalists, will hold its annual spring performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 9, and at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 10, in Jones Theater at the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Building on the Baylor University campus.
ShowTime! was founded in 1980 by, Dr. Leta Horan, associate professor of piano. It is now led by newly appointed director and pianist, Daniel Farris. The ensemble performs choreographed review-style shows at Baylor and other community events and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Central America and Europe. The group's long-time choreographer is Jerry MacLauchlin. Horan is an artistic consultant.
This year's program will travel back to offer a varied collection of songs from Tin Pan Alley, collection of New York City-centered music publishers and songwriters, the "Great American Songbook," and the Broadway musical stage. Titles include, "Racing Against the Clock" from The Pajama Game, "The Book Report" from You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, "Frim Fram Sauce" and "Hey, Good Lookin'."
The students, who must audition to participate in the ensemble, represent a variety of majors from music to business to religion. All members are recipients of the Virginia Furrow Singers Scholarship.
