Baylor University's admission services and several student organizations will host hundreds of prospective students and their parents for Spring Premiere, Friday and Saturday, April 23-24.
The premiere gives a glimpse of college life by offering informational sessions, campus tours and meetings with Baylor faculty, staff and students. Student organizations participating in Spring Premiere include Student Foundation, Student Telecounseling Admissions Representatives and Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity.
The weekend will begin with a mixer from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center. The informational mixer will provide an opportunity for prospective students and parents to enjoy refreshments with current Baylor students and admission services staff.
On Saturday, registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Ferrell Center, where participants can pick up their premiere packets and enjoy a light breakfast. The "Welcome to Baylor" opening session will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., hosted by the admission services staff, Alpha Phi Omega, and Marilyn Crone, vice president for enrollment management.
The remainder of the day will include "Pick and Choose Time," which will allow participants to explore the Baylor campus. Two academic sessions, scheduled for 2 and 3 p.m., will introduce students to fields of study and allow them to attend presentations given by Baylor professors.
The premiere will wrap up with a program in Waco Hall from 4 to 4:30 p.m., with performances by current Baylor students, including two Sing acts. Following the closing session, high school seniors and transfer students are invited to a reception, held in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Premiere dates for next fall and spring semesters are Sept. 17-18, Jan. 28-29, 2005 and April 22-23, 2005.
