David Crowder, a pop icon in the Christian music world, will present the first lecture of the Hearn Innovators in Christian Music Series, hosted by the Baylor School of Music.

Crowder, lead singer of the David Crowder Band, will speak at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, in Waco Hall's Recital Hall II on the Baylor campus. Crowder will spend Wednesday with small groups of church music majors.

The Hearn Innovators in Christian Music Series hosts guest speakers and lecturers who are active in the practice, creation or study of church music. Presenters are on campus for a three- to four-day residency and speak in classes, make public presentations and visit with students in small groups and individually.

"The goal of the series is to inspire students to be innovators themselves and to create venues where Baylor students can interact with people who are impacting the field of Christian Music," said Dr. Randall Bradley, Director of the Center for Christian Music Studies.
