Super Saturday Sessions For Kids Begin Nov. 1 At Baylor

Baylor University's Center for Community Learning and Enrichment will hold its popular Super Saturday classes for preschoolers through high school seniors, beginning Nov. 1.
Four-year-olds through kindergartners will celebrate autumn with songs, dances, stories and art in "Fall Fantasy" from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Baylor Piper Center, 315 Washington Ave. The instructors for the course will be Loretta Rudd and Connie Kassner.
First- through third-graders will discover "Puppet Power!" from 9 a.m. to noon in room 152 of the Draper Academic Building on the Baylor campus. Under instruction from Allen Ware, students will explore all types of puppets and learn how they come alive through dramatic play.
Fourth- and fifth-grade students will learn more about Native American art in "Pottery Fun" from 9 a.m. to noon at 107 N. Bend Court in Waco. Students will make an object with a native feel using building and decorating techniques used by the first Americans. The instructors for the course will be Taylor Hendrix and Barb Francis.
Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders will develop their own "Creative Drama" from 9 a.m. to noon in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center on the Baylor campus. Parents are welcome to enjoy the show during the final half hour of the class. The instructor will be Chris Day.
High school freshmen through seniors will discover "How Waco Exploded!" from 9 a.m. to noon at the Earle-Napier-Kinnard House, 814 S. Fourth. Instructor Marsha Hendrix will show students how Waco evolved into the city they know today and help them find the relationship between their homes and other places of interest in Waco. The course also will include a tour of the historic Waco home and Victorian desserts.
Sessions for pre-school through kindergarten are $20. Classes for first graders and up are $30, which includes all lab materials and facilities fees. Classes fill up quickly. For more information, call (254) 710-2171. Super Saturdays will continue on Dec. 6, Jan. 24, Feb. 21, March 27 and April 24.
