Baylor Mourns Death of Baylor Senior

May 12, 2009

A tragic car accident on Monday night claimed the life of a Baylor University senior and seriously injured another student.

The Baylor family is mourning the death of Brendon Mooney, who died last night from injuries he sustained in the single-car accident in the 3200 block of Third Street. Anthony Yacoub was a passenger in the car with Brendon. He is currently listed in serious condition at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

Brendon was a senior exercise physiology major from Spring and a member of Beta Theta Pi. Please keep Brendon's family, roommates and friends in your prayers at this very difficult time.

Anthony is a junior pre-business major from Coppell and also a member of Beta Theta Pi. Please remember him in your prayers, too.

Students who would like to talk with a counselor may call the Counseling Center at (254) 710-2467 or University Ministries at (254) 710-3517.

A gathering for the friends and fellow classmates of Brendon will be held tonight from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at the Spiritual Life Center.

Funeral arrangements for Brendon are pending.
