Congressional Archive To Host Open House Oct. 23

In observance of National Archives Week, Baylor University's Collections of Political Materials (BCPM), located on the first floor of the W.R. Poage Legislative Library, will host an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23.
Demonstrations of book binding, cataloging, digitization, microfilm analysis, archival preservation and media migration will be given. Materials in the BCPM include the Bullock Archives, papers of 12 former U.S. congressmen, several Texas state legislators and judges, and numerous ancillary collections.
An archive is an institution or organization that collects, preserves and makes available records of enduring or long-term value, which include letters, diaries, photographs, maps, drawings and electronic records such as e-mail.
