Area organizations, churches and local citizens are encouraged to submit job requests and to volunteer for Baylor University's annual Steppin' Out community service project, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The deadline to submit a job request is Oct. 10.
More than 2,500 Baylor students and volunteers will be sent out to approximately 100 job sites from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 1 to paint houses, clean up yards, interact with local nursing home residents and more.
The mission of the Steppin' Out service organization, a Baylor tradition since 1985, is to enhance student involvement in community service and to develop community awareness, interaction and collaboration between Baylor and the Waco community. Steppin' Out also seeks to provide opportunities for experiential learning, civic leadership and social responsibility.
Steppin' Out is one of the largest mass community service projects by an American university and is frequently used as a foundation for the establishment of community service programs throughout the United States.
To submit a job request or to volunteer, contact the Steppin' Out office at 710-3199.
