Media Guidelines for Dennehy Memorial Service

August 28, 2003

by Lori Scott Fogleman

Baylor University will hold a campus-wide memorial service for Patrick Dennehy at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, in the Powell Chapel at Truett Seminary on the Baylor campus.
Out of respect for Patrick's family and friends and to limit the number of cameras inside the chapel, KWBU-TV will provide pool video coverage of the memorial service for television stations and a clean audio feed for radio stations. The Waco Tribune-Herald will provide pool photo coverage for the Associated Press.
Participants in the service will include Dr. Todd L. Lake, Baylor's dean for university ministries; Baylor President Robert B. Sloan Jr.; Jeff Leach, student body president; John Cunningham, senior lecturer in communication studies and one of Patrick's professors; Jessica De La Rosa, friend of Patrick's; Pastor Dick Bernal of Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose, Calif.; and Dr. Eileen Hulme, Baylor's vice president for student life. Ushers for the service will be members of Baylor's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Special music will be provided by the university's A Cappella Choir.
Television stations, especially those with live or satellite trucks, are asked to begin set up after 6 p.m. behind the blue fencing between the new Dutton Avenue parking facility and the seminary. During the service, KWBU-TV will provide a two-camera feed to a distribution amp/audio multbox set up in the Piper Great Hall, adjacent to the chapel. Seating for the media will be available in the Great Hall. A workroom for print reporters will be open after the service in room 115.
