Baylor University's admission services and Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, will host hundreds of prospective students and their parents for Spring Premiere, Friday and Saturday, April 25-26. The premiere gives a glimpse of college life by offering informational sessions, campus tours and meetings with Baylor faculty, staff and students.
The weekend will begin with a mixer from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday on the fifth floor of the Cashion Academic Center in Hankamer School of Business. The informational mixer will provide an opportunity for prospective students and parents to enjoy refreshments with current Baylor students and admission services staff.
On Saturday, registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Ferrell Center, where participants can pick up their premiere packets and enjoy a light breakfast. The "Welcome to Baylor" opening session will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., hosted by the admission services staff, Alpha Phi Omega, and Marilyn Crone, vice president for human resources, whose division includes enrollment management.
The remainder of the day will include "Pick and Choose Time," which will allow participants to explore the Baylor campus. Two academic sessions, scheduled for 2 and 3 p.m., will introduce students to fields of study and allow them to attend presentations given by Baylor professors. The premiere will wrap up with a program in Waco Hall from 4 to 4:30 p.m., with performances by current Baylor students.
Premiere dates for next fall and spring are Sept. 19-20, Jan. 30-31, 2004, and April 23-24, 2004.
