Several Baylor University departments and student organizations will host a kick-off event for the inaugural All University Relay For Life, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, from 3 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12, during Dr Pepper Hour in the Barfield Drawing Room in the Bill Daniel Student Center.

The event, sponsored by Mastercraft, will include various booths designed to familiarize the Baylor community with Relay For Life, as well as encourage students, faculty, and staff to sign up teams for the relay taking place on April 11-12.

For April's event, Zeta Tau Alpha, Baylor University Medical Ethics Discussion Society (BU MEDS) and Alpha Phi Omega will join together with a 34-member student committee to host the all-night event that will take place on the Baylor Science Building intramural fields.

Last year, more than 4,000 Relay events around the country raised more than $400 million for the cancer research and patient services funded by the American Cancer Society.
