Baylor University President John M. Lilley today released the following statement to the Baylor community, regarding the George W. Bush Presidential Library:

"In a call today from Secretary Don Evans, chair of the Bush Library site-selection committee, we were informed that the committee is continuing its deliberations and hopes to render a final decision on the site selection sometime late in January or early February.

"At present, the committee is focusing its attention on further discussions with officials at Southern Methodist University.

"Officials representing the site-selection committee reiterated that no final decision has been made, and Baylor is still a candidate for the library site.
