Registration is under way now for the Nov. 23 Super Saturday sessions for preschoolers through high school juniors, sponsored by Baylor University's Center for Community Learning and Enrichment.

"Cooking Capers" for four-year-olds through kindergartners will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 23 at the Baylor Piper Child Development Center, 315 Washington Ave. In addition to doing a little cooking of their own, children will share stories about cooking, including the storybook characters who love to cook. The instructors for the course are Connie Kassner and Sandy Atkins.

First- through third-graders will learn that what goes up must come down in "Going Ballistics!" from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 23 at Hillcrest Professional Development School, 4225 Pine Ave. Students will use hands-on methods to discover the physics behind the behavior of objects that are launched into the air. Rick Strot will lead the class.

Three sessions of "HOT Jobs for Your Future: Health Opportunities Texas" will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 23 in the Draper Academic Building on the Baylor campus. Sessions for fourth- and fifth-graders will be held in room 152, sixth- through eighth-graders in room 129 and ninth- through 11th-graders in room 121. Staff from the Brazos Area Health Education Center will help students discover careers in pharmacy, nursing, dentistry and public health. Groups will rotate from room to room and participate in activities about epidemiology, emergency care, compounding medicines, taking vital signs and making dental molds.

Future Super Saturdays will be held Dec. 7, Jan. 25, Feb. 15, March 29 and April 26.

Sessions for pre-school through kindergarten are $15. Classes for first graders and up are $30, which includes all lab materials and facilities fees. Registration is limited. For more information, call (254) 710-2171 or visit
