Students Gain New Perspective During Mission Emphasis Week

Baylor University will host Mission Emphasis Week Oct. 7-11, sponsored by Baptist Student Ministries (BSM), to encourage student involvement in spreading God's message to people around the world through informational seminars, discussions and fellowship.
Representatives from 12 countries, including Germany, the United States, Honduras, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Turkey, Indonesia, Republic of Niger, Liberia and Argentina will participate in a Mission Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday in the Bill Daniel Student Center. The representatives will share their experiences in the mission field with Baylor students and answer any questions they may have about mission work.
Other scheduled events include a prayer breakfast at 7 a.m. Monday in the Bobo Baptist Student Center. A mission dinner will be held Monday night at 6 p.m. in the Baptist Student Center.
BSM will host an international 'tailgate mixer' from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Baptist Student Center. A Coffee Shop gathering will be held at 8:30 p.m. at Truett Seminary. The week's events will conclude with a RA/GA Rally from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and missionary fellowship at 8 p.m. at the Baptist Student Center.
Missionaries will speak to students in Chapel at 10 and 11 a.m. Monday in Waco Hall.
Informational seminars also will be presented at various times Monday through Wednesday on an extensive array of topics, ranging from "Missions and the Media" to "Do I Really Need a Degree to be a Missionary?"
