Baylor Career Services will host the annual fall Job Fair for students and alumni to network with a wide variety of employers from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006 at the Ferrell Center.

"The job fair will feature 110 different employers interested in Baylor students. The event is a large networking event open to all majors," said Carolyn Muska, associate director of career services.

A variety of employers will attend, including Teach for America; Continental Airlines; the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA); ExxonMobil; Dell, Inc.; and EchoStar Communications. While many employers are seeking students with business majors, 40 of the 110 employers expressed interest in students of any major.

Students should dress appropriately and bring their Baylor ID and copies of their résumés. Muska recommends researching several companies before attending the job fair.

"Having knowledge about a company impresses recruiters and gives students confidence while networking. Recruiters have told us we have a very well-run job fair. Employers like the quality of Baylor students because they present themselves and communicate well," she said.

Muska encourages students to take advantage of the chance to make initial contact with companies for full employment and internship opportunities. Employers of many Baylor alumni attend the event.

"We've been sold out for a month, which is a sign that recruiting for college students is increasing," Muska said.
According to Muska, more college recruiting generally occurs in the fall. "Now is the time to begin the job search for students seeking employment after graduation," she said.
