Baylor Board Receives Audit, Hears Reports At September Meeting

Baylor University Regents at their September meeting today received a clean audit for the 2001-2002 fiscal year, heard reports on student life and alumni services initiatives, and were briefed on the university's hosting of last month's President's Economic Forum.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Board Chair Drayton McLane Jr. and President Robert B. Sloan Jr. issued a statement regarding head football coach Kevin Steele following the Bears' 1-2 start:
"In response to numerous media inquiries regarding the status of head football coach Kevin Steele, Baylor will abide by its longstanding practice of carrying out all final head coaching reviews and evaluations at the end of the season."
The board's next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 24-25.
