A Baylor graduate, Dorrell is a past recipient of the Abner V. McCall Humanitarian Award, given to those who champion the causes of religious freedom and humanitarianism. Through Mission Waco, Dorrell and his staff have established thrift stores, a theater, tutoring programs, GED classes, computer labs and teen development programs for the community.
