Scenes In Wright Brothers Documentary To Be Shot At Historic Village May 23

Three scenes from an upcoming PBS documentary on the Wright brothers will be filmed from 1 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Baylor University's Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village. To be used in "Kitty Hawk: The Wright Brothers' Journey of Invention," the scenes will depict Orville Wright constructing a kite during his childhood.
"David Garrigus, the documentary's producer and director, selected the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village because it gives the proper background and ambiance of late 19th century that he needs to convey in these film segments of Orville Wright successfully working out the problems of flight by working with kites," said Tom Proctor, director of the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village.
The two-hour documentary, which will be released by Connecticut Public Broadcasting in 2003, will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the famous flight by Orville Wright in 1903.
