MEDIA INFORMATION

The inauguration and installation of John Mark Lilley as Baylor University's 13th president will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, in the Ferrell Center.

No credentials are necessary to cover the inauguration, however, there are several things media need to be aware of.

? Because of an anticipated crowd, we ask reporters and photographers to arrive at least one hour before the beginning of the ceremony.
? Since this is a formal occasion, we are respectfully making the request that all media be appropriately attired for the ceremony. No jeans, shorts or t-shirts. Khaki slacks and a polo or button-down shirt would be fine. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
? KWBU-TV will be providing live audio AND video feeds from a mult-box. You have the option of shooting your own video while tapping into KWBU's audio feed or taking the video/audio feed.
? The tunnel entrance will NOT be available to the media because of the set up of the main stage. Please enter the Ferrell Center on the concourse level and use either one of these floor entrances: Section 123 Southwest Floor Entrance or Section 117 Southeast Floor Entrance.
? There are two platforms for television cameras are located at the back of the Ferrell Center opposite the tunnel and the main stage. The large middle platform is for the Baylor Wind Ensemble, but there are two platforms to the right and left for television cameras.
? If you are at the back of the arena facing the stage, media seating is available in the two-tiered stand to your left. Let any of Baylor's media relations staff members know if you need a place to file stories.
? We also respectfully request that all video camera photographers shoot only from the platforms during the ceremony. (Again, KWBU-TV will be providing an audio/video feed, which should eliminate the need for moving around the floor of the Ferrell Center.)
? The inauguration is expected to last from 2 p.m. to about 4 p.m., but if any members of the media need to leave before the ceremony's conclusion, please let a member of Baylor's media relations staff know (in advance, if possible), so we can help get exit with the least amount of distraction to the audience.
? A reception will follow on Burleson Quadrangle on Fifth Street on the Baylor campus. In the event of inclement weather, the reception will be moved to the Mayborn Museum on University Parks Drive.
