Brothers Under Christ Fraternity will host its annual Island Party Christian concert from 6 to midnight Friday, April 21, at Fountain Mall on the Baylor University campus.

Headlining the concert will be Christian artists Bebo Norman and Matthew West. Both have received several accolades in the Christian music industry. Other bands to perform include House of Heroes, Iconoclast, Friend of Nick and Baylor student Denise Hearn.

Island Party organizer Trent Weaver said the event is a great way to serve others.

"We see it as a ministry opportunity to just bring some clean, wholesome fun to both Baylor and the city of Waco," Weaver said. "From listening to bands and chatting with friends, to riding the Ferris wheel and playing volleyball, it's just a fun day to be outside."

More than 6,000 people are expected to partake in the festivities that include a Ferris wheel, mechanical bull, cotton candy, sno cones and outdoor games. The purchase of a $10 Island Party shirt serves as an all-you-can-eat meal ticket throughout the evening. Free Dr Pepper products also will be available.

The event is sponsored in part by the Place2BU, the Baylor University Student Life Fund, Baylor Dining Services and Campus Visits. The Island Party will serve as a kickoff event for Spring Premiere, the annual campus preview for potential students.

"We partner up with Baylor for Spring Premiere," said Weaver. "Island Party is a great chance for prospective students to see the campus and mingle with college students."
