Baylor University received two awards at "Bet on Success," the 2002 Southwest Regional Conference, held March 22-24 at Texas A&M University. Dr. Randy M. Wood, professor of education and Baylor Golden Key advisor, was selected as the Southwestern Region Advisor of the Year. Jodi Longo, a Baylor senior, was elected as the Regional Student Representative for the 2002-2003 school year.
More than 100 Golden Key members from 21 chapters in Oklahoma and Texas attended the conference. Students and advisors participated in educational workshops discussing topics ranging from community service to diversity.
"It was nice to see so many student leaders attend the conference because it shows Golden Key members dedication to serving their chapters and local communities. Overall, the weekend was a great success," said Mark Flesher, Texas A&M chapter officer and campus conference coordinator.
