Historic Village To Host 'Flutter, Float And Fly' March 16

March 13, 2002

Baylor University's Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village will hold "Flutter, Float and Fly" from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 16.
The event will allow visitors to make pinwheels, kites and whirligigs, which are wind-driven figures similar to miniature weathervanes.
"These were toys that children typically played with in the 1890s," said Dinah Siemon, coordinator of educational programming at the Historic Village.
Additionally, village staff will explain 19th-century weather forecasting techniques from the Farmer's Almanac.
Admission to "Flutter, Float and Fly" is $3 for adults, $2 for senior citizens and $1 for children ages 6 to 16. Baylor faculty, staff, students and children under age 6 are admitted free.
The Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village is located on University Parks Drive behind the Baylor Alumni Center.
