The Baylor Board of Regents at its February meeting on Friday approved a new joint Master of Divinity-Master of Science in Education (Counseling) degree program. The joint degree will be offered through George W. Truett Theological Seminary and the counseling program in the School of Education's Department of Educational Psychology.
The purpose of the joint degree is to professionally prepare students for counseling and pastoral care ministries in churches, para-church organizations, and other organizations that may include religious/spiritual dimensions to their counseling services. The joint degree will provide students with theological training and meet the academic requirements for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas.
