Cookies and Blossoms to Showcase Winter Perennials

January 26, 2006

The first Cookies and Blossoms of 2006 will highlight the winter perennials blooming at the Hulme Family Prayer Garden at Baylor University's North Village. The popular monthly event which highlights the garden areas around campus will run from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, and is free and open to all faculty staff and students. Refreshments of homemade bar cookies and hot cider will be served.
"Fluffy white cabbages, which have been spectacular, and blue pansies as well as many interesting perennials in winter garb will greet all comers," said Lynn Woodward, coordinator of campus advocacy for facility services and Cookies and Blossoms hostess.
Dr. Eileen Hulme, former vice president for student life, and her four brothers, Mark, Thom, Glen and his wife, Martha, and Vernon provided a gift for the North Village Hulme Family Prayer Garden in memory of their parents, Louie and Gussie Hulme, who both graduated from Baylor in the 1940s.
The event is sponsored by facility services. For more information, call 710-1361.
