National Print Invitational Opens in Martin Museum of Art Jan. 24

January 20, 2006

The 18th National University of Dallas Print Invitational will open in the Martin Museum of Art at Baylor University on Tuesday, Jan. 24, and will run through March 4.
The traveling exhibition was initially presented in the Haggerty Art Gallery at the University of Dallas in March 2004. Artists from 12 states have works included in the exhibit, including two Texas artists, Richard M. Ash of Wichita Falls and David Conn of Fort Worth.
Printing techniques in the exhibition include screenprint, etching, woodcut, lithograph and intaglio. Pieces were selected from about 1,000 slides of prints by currently working printmakers throughout the United States. Graduate printmaking students at the University of Dallas selected, matted and framed the 45 prints included in the exhibit.
The Martin Museum of Art is located in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center on the Baylor campus. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The museum is closed during university holidays.
