Prospective Students Invited To Baylor's Winter Premiere Jan. 18-19
High school juniors and seniors, transfer students and their parents are invited to visit the Baylor University campus during Winter Premiere Friday and Saturday, Jan. 18-19, sponsored by the Baylor office of admission services and the Baylor Chamber of Commerce.
Baylor's premiere events, held every fall, winter and spring, gives prospective students and their families a chance to explore the Baylor campus, meet current students, professors and staff, and get questions answered about academics, financial aid, student activities and more. Baylor's Spring Premiere is scheduled for April 19-20.
Winter Premiere events begin Friday, Jan. 18, with an informal mixer for participants, current Baylor students and admissions staff from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Bill Daniel Student Center on campus. On Saturday, Jan. 19, prospective students can pick up their information packet, including a detailed agenda, and enjoy a light breakfast from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at Waco Hall. An opening session called "Welcome to Baylor" will provide quick facts about Baylor and the rest of the day's activities, which include "Pick and Choose" time on campus and academic sessions from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Students can choose tours of the campus, residence halls, McLane Student Life Center, labs and libraries; enjoy lunch in a campus food court, a student activities fair and shopping in a Baylor Bookstore; a visit with the Baylor bear mascot; and special interest sessions on admissions, scholarships and financial aid, study abroad programs and other topics relevant to prospective students and their parents. During the academic sessions, students will choose two fields of study and attend presentations by Baylor professors.
Following a closing session that includes Baylor student performances, Winter Premiere will conclude at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
The registration fee for students is $10, which includes lunch and a t-shirt. Additional meals for family members are $7 each. Additional t-shirts are $10. Late registration will be held from 8:15 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Waco Hall.
