The Baylor Symphony Orchestra To Perform Nov. 13

The Baylor University Symphony Orchestra will present the music of Maurice Ravel, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johannes Brahms at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in Jones Concert Hall. Stephen Heyde, director of orchestral activities and Conductor-in-Residence, will lead the 88-member orchestra.
The program will open with Ravel's Alborada del gracioso ("Morning Song of the Jester"). Written for piano in 1905 as the fourth piece in Ravel's piano set Miroirs, it was performed by the composer in 1921.
Mozart wrote his Symphony No. 34 in C major, K. 338, in 1780. It is among the earliest of Mozart's acknowledged symphonic masterpieces.
Following intermission, the Baylor Symphony Orchestra will present a performance of the Symphony No. 3 in F major, Op. 90, by Johannes Brahms, who composed it in 1883.
