ASA Features A Weekend Of African Culture

The African Student Association (ASA) at Baylor University will host a weekend of activities to promote African culture Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9 - 11.
On Friday, a dance and poetry competition will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. at Waco Hall. On Saturday, a drama and fashion show will take place from noon to 3 p.m. also at Waco Hall. Students from the University of Texas, the University of Texas at Houston, University of Oklahoma and Texas A&M University will participate. Admission is free.
The ASA annual jazz banquet will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday in room 510 of the Cashion Academic Center. This year’s theme is “Experience the Theme of Africa.” Events include jazz bands, African poets and performances by Baylor students. Tickets are $15 per person and $25 per couple. Tickets can be purchased in the lobby of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
