Kappa Delta Presents Annual Battle of the Bands Oct. 14

The annual Battle of the Bands, sponsored by Kappa Delta and the Place 2BU, will take place on Friday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m. in the SUB Bowl.
The event, which will feature five up-and-coming bands, will offer $750, $500, and $250 prizes for the top three winners. The bands will be judged by six people, including staff members from the Student Life Division, a student judge, and local music professionals and industry representatives. Ten bands submitted demo tapes, and five were chosen after the audition process.
The Baylor Activities Council is hosting the Spaghetti Showdown in conjunction with Battle of the Bands. The Showdown will feature "spaghetti-themed relays and games," and the winners will be awarded gift cards, according to Amy Reeves, assistant director of student activities for campus programming. The games will take place between each band's set.
