Candlelight Vigil to be held for Victims of Hurricane Katrina

Baylor University's chapter of the Association of Black Students in association with the Big XII Council on Black Student Government will sponsor a candlelight vigil and relief fundraiser for the victims of Hurricane Katrina at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, in front of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
The event will feature a keynote address and the lighting of 29 candles to signify the date the tragedy struck.
The program will simultaneously occur with events sponsored by similar African American student government organizations at participating universities including Iowa State University, Kansas State University, Oklahoma State University, the University of Colorado, the University of Kansas, the University of Missouri, the University of Nebraska, the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas.
The Association of Black Students will also sponsor tables Sept. 22-23 in the lobby of the Bill Daniel Student Center to collect donations for the Red Cross.
