The annual Texas church conference for the blind will begin Friday on the Baylor University campus with approximately 40 participants are expected to attend the weekend of worship, fellowship, praise and prayer. This summer's conference will be led by Bible teacher Ben Watson of Omaha, Neb. Christian Education for the Blind Ministries of Fort Worth coordinates the event, which is open to the blind and the seeing.
Founded in 1953, the conference aims to bridge the gap between the church and people with disabilities. The goal of the program is to teach the blind, their families and friends how the church can better serve them.
