Historical Lectures To Feature "Gender and Inequality" Theme

Dr. Linda K. Kerber, the May Brodbeck Professor in the Liberal Arts and Professor of History at the University of Iowa, will speak on "Gender Inequality" during the 23rd Charles Edmondson Historical Lectures March 19-20 in Draper Academic Building Room 116 on the Baylor University campus.
Kerber will speak on "The 1970s" during her first lecture at 2 p.m. Monday. During her second lecture, scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday, she will discuss "The New Millennium."
Past president of the Organization of American Historians (1997) and the American Studies Association (1998), Kerber joined the faculty at the University of Iowa in 1975. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and an elected member of the Society of American Historians, the American Antiquarian Society and PEN/American Center. In 1999, she was the first recipient of the Radcliffe College Award for Distinguished Scholarship in the field of women, gender and society. Kerber is an award-winning author of several books about women in history.
The Edmondson Historical Lectures, sponsored by the history department, are made possible by an endowment established by Dr. E. Bud Edmondson of Longview to honor his father, Charles S.B. Edmondson.
