Baseball Stadium Renovations

February 27, 1998

The general architectural concept is to give the baseball stadium an "old ball park" feel. The stadium will feature 2,566 chairback seats in the grandstand seating area and 576 chairback seats in the box seating area. Approximately 2/3 of the grandstand chairback seating will be cover by a roof. There will be approximately 1,000 bleacher seats in a general admission seating area. An elevated grassy berm area will be built down the right field line to create a picnic area.
The stadium will be a fully self-contained facility with a players' clubhouse, coaches' offices, training room, equipment room, team meeting room and umpires' dressing room all under one roof and attached to the new home team dugout.
The stadium will house a new indoor batting cage which will facilitate both the baseball and softball teams. A new concessions and novelties stand will be built to increase customer convenience.
A modern state-of-the-art air conditioned pressbox will be constructed to facilitate press operations on game day.
This facility should be built by the beginning of the 1999 baseball season and should be one of the top five collegiate baseball stadiums in the country
