Summer Soccer Camps To Be Held At Baylor

June 21, 2000

Baylor University head soccer coach Nick Cowell and his staff will host four soccer camps June 26-30, July 15-30 and 22-27.
The micro soccer half-day camp provides an introduction to soccer through a small-sided, game-based program with special emphasis on the fundamentals. The overall aim is to create a desire to participate through short, fun practices and coordination work. This camp is open to boys and girls age 5 to 7 and will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 26-30. The cost for this camp is $75.
The regular day camp for boys and girls age 8 to 18 will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 26-30. This camp is geared toward the development of the youth soccer player in a challenging and fun environment. The main focus is to educate the player on the proper techniques required to build a good foundation for overall player development. The campers will meet the coaching staff as well as have the opportunity to work with some of Baylor's top players. The cost for this camp is $160 and includes lunch.
The residential camps will be held July 15-20 and 22-27, and are open to girls age 10 and above. The camps will feature a daily schedule of individual, small group and team instruction in techniques and tactics. They also will include lectures and demonstrations of strategy and training methods that will help make the camper a complete player. Full-sided evening games will allow the campers to apply what they learned throughout the day. The cost for this camp is $445 and $400 for the team camp.
At the end of the residential camp, each camper will be given an in-depth written evaluation from her specific coach.
