Outstanding Texas Family Businesses Recognized By Baylor

WACO, Texas -- Winners of the 11th annual Outstanding Family Business contest sponsored by Baylor University's Institute for Family Business will be honored at an awards ceremony Thursday, Oct. 19, on the Baylor campus.
More than 100 businesses across Texas were nominated for the competition, which honors top firms demonstrating strong business and family values. Judges include family business consultants, advisers and principals of family firms.
This year's award winners are: Small family business (50 or fewer employees) -- Pulliam Pools, Fort Worth; medium family business (51-250 employees) -- Branch-Smith, Fort Worth; large family business (more than 250 employees) -- Beldon Enterprises, San Antonio; community commitment award -- Full Color Inc., Dallas; family values award -- G.R. Birdwell Construction Inc./Remedial Construction Services Inc., Houston; fastest growing award -- Hirschfeld Steel Company Inc., San Angelo; founders award -- The Premier Company, Houston; and well-managed award -- Kanaly Trust Co., Houston.
Finalists in the competition included: Atchley Systems Inc., Dallas; Brook Mays Music Company Inc., Dallas; Cargill Associates Inc., Fort Worth; Controls International Inc., Dallas; Datamatic.com Ltd., Richardson; First-Nichols National Bank, Kenedy; Grant Sales Inc., Plano; Marfield Inc., doing business as Marfield Corporate Stationery, Carrollton; O'Reilly Corp., doing business as McDonald's Restaurants, Plano; and Time Vision Inc., Irving.
