More than 900 members of the Baylor University and Central Texas communities will gather Friday, Jan. 19, at the Ferrell Special Events Center for the annual President's Community Prayer Breakfast. Serving will begin at 6:30 a.m. with the program starting at 7 a.m.
Dr. Milton Cunningham, athletics chaplain and special assistant to the vice president for student life, said the event is an ideal time for participants to focus on the year ahead.
"The purpose of the breakfast is to bring together leaders from the community to focus on common goals and concerns, and ask the Lord to lead and guide us in the new year," Cunningham said. "We're excited about hosting the community."
Dr. Duane Brooks, pastor of Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, will serve as keynote speaker during the program. Kim Scott, director of the McLane Student Life Center at Baylor, will share a testimony during the event.
