Rick Creel, most recently president of Flynn Enterprises in Waco, has been named Baylor University's director of operations, effectively immediately. The announcement was made today by David Brooks, Baylor's vice president for finance and administration.
Creel will be responsible for coordinating and serving as project manager on various campus construction projects, as well as overseeing outside service providers to Baylor.
"We are very fortunate to have Rick Creel join Baylor University in this newly created capacity," Brooks said. "He has the project management experience and financial background that are vital to the business operations of this university."
A 1987 graduate of Oral Roberts University with a bachelor's degree in accounting, Creel joined Flynn Enterprises in 1992 as controller and rose through the ranks to chief financial officer, vice president and eventually president in 1996. Prior to his association with Flynn, he served as controller for the Christian Men's Network in Southlake.
Creel is a member of Highland Baptist Church and the Rotary Club of Waco and serves on the advisory council for KWBU Public Television and on the board of directors of the Heart of Texas chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He and his wife, Melanie, have two children, Madison, 8, and Braden, 4.
