Baylor University has enrolled a record total of 12,604 students for the spring 2001 semester, according to the official 12th-day enrollment statistics compiled by the Office of the Registrar.
The enrollment represents an increase of 425 students from official figures for the spring 2000 semester when 12,179 students were enrolled.
The spring semester's enrollment consists of 11,099 undergraduates, including 15 new freshmen, 163 transfer students, 29 new students and 10,892 continuing/returning students; 1,161 graduate students; 251 students in George W. Truett Theological Seminary; and two School of Law students taking graduate hours, bringing the total for the Waco campus to 12,513.
At the U.S. Army Academy of Health Sciences in San Antonio, where Baylor has an affiliated degree program, 91 students are enrolled.
The law school is not included in the official 12th day spring enrollment figures because the school uses a quarter system. Official spring quarter enrollment statistics will be available in February.
