The 2001 Baylor/Waco Piano Competition Set For Saturday

The Baylor/Waco Piano Competition will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, on the Baylor University campus.
Now in its 22nd year, the Baylor/Waco Piano Competition, is sponsored by the Baylor School of Music. It provides an opportunity for young pianists in the five-state area to gain valuable experience and recognition. There are also cash prizes awarded to the top two winners in each of the five divisions.
This year's event will feature 62 contestants, grades 7-12, who will represent the independent piano studios of 38 teachers from across Texas and Oklahoma.
The Baylor/Waco Piano Competition is comprised of two main categories, the piano solo competition and the piano concerto competition. Each categories consists of various divisions, depending on the age of the contestant.
Winners in every division will be announced at an awards presentation ceremony at 1:45 p.m. in Meadows Recital Hall.
