Baylor Celebrates Black Heritage Week Feb. 5-12.

Baylor University will celebrate its annual Black Heritage Week Feb. 5-12. Activities scheduled will promote unity and appreciation of the African-American culture.
The Xi Sigma chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity will have its Fourth Annual Epic Odyssey Greek Stomp Show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, in Waco Hall. The step show will be hosted by American Music Award winner Tyrese. Tickets are $20. For more information, contact Chris Haynes at 755-7024.
There will be a church service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, at the Open Door Baptist Church. A carpool will be available at the Bill Daniel Student Center. The meeting time for carpooling is 10:15 a.m.
A Black Heritage Week education table will be set up from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, in the lobby of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
The Zambia a cappella Boys Choir will perform during Dr Pepper Hour at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center. The performance is free.
A Black History trivia game will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, in the Barfield Drawing Room.
The Association of Black Students (ABS) will host a banquet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, on the fifth floor of the Cashion Academic Center. The guest speaker is Melba Pattillo Beals, a member of the "Little Rock Nine" and author of Warriors Don't Cry. Tickets are $5 for ABS members and $12 for non-members. Tickets are available at the ABS table in the Student Center.
A community service project will be held at the Waco Community Fellowship Center Friday, Feb. 11. There will be a carpool available at the Student Center. The time for this event will be announced at a later date.
The Heavenly Voices Gospel Choir will have their annual Gospel Fest at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, in Waco Hall. Workshops will be held at 9 a.m.
