International Week Set for Oct. 25-30

October 21, 1999

Baylor University's annual International Week, which promotes campus and community awareness and appreciation of international students, will be observed Oct. 25-30.
Throughout the week, Baylor campus cafeterias will feature international cuisine, such as French, Asian, Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean, Caribbean and Greek foods.
The annual International Food Fest will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center, as students prepare and serve a sample of a dish characteristic of their home countries. Students also will dress in traditional clothing and display flags and other cultural items.
Guest tickets for the Food Fest are $4.50 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12 and can be purchased in advance from the Office of International Programs or from the ticket office in the BDSC. Tickets also are available at the door for $6.50.
Currently, 382 students and scholars from more than 60 countries compose Baylor's international community.
