Hispanic Student Association Celebrates 13th Annual

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH
Baylor University's Hispanic Student Association (HSA) will celebrate the heritage of the Hispanic community during HSA's 13th annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. This year's theme is "Envisioning the Future in the Hands of Our Culture."
HSA will host "Kid Day" at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in front of the Student Union Building. HSA members and children from the L.U.L.A.C. Headstart Program will play games and participate in other activities.
The members of HSA will attend church services at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at Mighty Wind Worship Center, which is located at 11th Street and Jefferson Avenue.
This year's Heritage Banquet will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, and features Abraham Quintanilla, the father of late Tejano singer Selena. A producer and businessman, Quintanilla founded Q-Productions, a Hispanic based music company.
"Noche de Cultura," HSA's annual talent show will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, in the Castellaw Communications Building.
Saturday, Oct. 30, HSA will participate in "Steppin' Out," a community service project where Baylor students clean up neighborhoods, paint houses and churches, play with children, assist the elderly and take part in numerous other projects.
