More than 4,400 tickets have been distributed to Baylor University students, faculty and staff and Central Texas residents for the lecture of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Ferrell Special Events Center. Lady Thatcher will address "Challenges Facing the New Millennium."
Baylor ticket office officials say that all floor seats have been sold, but reserved arena seating is still available for $10 at the Bill Daniel Student Center ticket office or Floyd Casey Stadium. Tickets also will be available at the Ferrell Center ticket office on Tuesday beginning at 6 p.m.
Construction at the Baylor baseball and softball complexes will inhibit access to the Ferrell Center's parking lots, so ticket-holders are urged to arrive as early as possible. Doors open at 6 p.m. Baylor officials also encourage the use of the LaSalle Avenue entrance to alleviate traffic congestion on University Parks Drive.
"We encourage everyone to arrive early," said Larry D. Brumley, associate vice president for communications. "Former Prime Minister Thatcher has a very tight schedule. So out of respect for her, we still start the program promptly at 7 p.m."
No one will be allowed access to the arena floor after 7:05 p.m., Brumley said.
