by Lori Scott Fogleman

The Baylor University Golden Wave Alumni Band will perform a "Blues Brothers" show during halftime of the Baylor-Oklahoma football game Saturday, Nov. 14.
More than 100 alumni are expected to comprise this year's alumni band. Membership is open to former members of the Golden Wave Band who want to support and assist the current Baylor University Golden Wave Band. In 1998, alumni from Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and all over the state of Texas have registered. Alumni from just about every decade will contribute to this year's entertainment.
Since the first Alumni Band was formed in 1986, an honorary director is chosen for the occasion by the dean of the School of Music and Baylor band directors. This year's honorary director is Mrs. Donald I. (Norma) Moore. Wife of the late Donald I. Moore, the director of the Baylor University Golden Wave Band from 1948-1969 and professor in the music school until 1979, Mrs. Moore will be presented a plaque on the field at halftime by Jeff Grogan, current director of the Golden Wave Band, and Michael Haithcock, director of University Bands.
The president of the Alumni Band this year is Bob Powers from Waco, a 1965 Baylor graduate.
Band members will rehearse at Floyd Casey Stadium from 8:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a business meeting and lunch. At 12:30 p.m., they will line up to enter the stadium.
