ROTC to Sponsor POW/MIA Flag Vigil Nov. 10

November 6, 1998

Baylor University's ROTC Corps of Cadets will sponsor a 24-hour flag vigil in honor of military prisoners of war (POWs) and those missing in action (MIA) beginning at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Baylor flag pole in front of Pat Neff Hall. The flag vigil is held annually in conjunction with Veteran's Day.
During the flag vigil, four cadets will rotate guarding the flag during hour-long shifts. The vigil will end at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Additionally, cadets will place flags on the memorial light poles throughout campus. The poles originally were erected to honor Baylor students and alumni who lost their lives during World War II.
"This is a way for our students to honor veterans who served in different military actions," said Maj. Randy Jacobs, assistant professor of aerospace studies.
