Baylor Impact Awards Celebrate Successful Family-Owned Businesses with Transformative Impacts

WACO, Texas (Oct. 26, 2021) – The John F. Baugh Center for Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise, housed in Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business, will host the Baylor Impact Awards on Oct. 29. 

The Impact Awards celebrate successful Texas family-owned businesses and Baylor alumni owned or led businesses that have had a transformative impact in their field and surrounding community.  

“The finalists rose to the top because of the impact that they are making in their company, industry and community. They have such riveting stories about their families, overcoming hardships and making a difference among underserved communities,” Priscilla James, program manager of the Baugh Center, said. “It’s important to recognize companies who are not only successful but are also difference makers, proudly representing Baylor in a variety of ways.”

The grand prize winners will be announced at the Awards Gala on Oct. 29. The Impact Awards has eight categories, including Fastest Growing Business Awards, Dean’s Award, Texas Family Business of the Year Award, Recent Alumni Award, Diversity Award, Great Commission Award, Waco’s Finest Award and Community Commitment Award. 

All awards, except for the Texas Family Business of the Year Award, are given to Baylor graduates from a variety of schools and departments. The Texas Family Business of the Year Award acknowledges multi-generational, family-owned businesses in Texas who are committed to family and business continuity. Recent award winners include Focus Behavioral Associates, whose mission is to support the behavioral needs of adults and children.
