Mayborn Museum Honors Military Families With Complimentary Visit Dec. 31 And Jan. 2

Baylor University's Sue and Frank Mayborn Natural Science and Cultural History Museum Complex invites active duty military personnel and their families to visit on Dec. 31 and Jan. 2. Admission is free with an active duty military ID.
The Mayborn Museum Complex, located at 1300 S. University Parks Dr. in Waco, is opening it doors to troops and their families in conjunction with the Texas National Guard deployment ceremony to be held Jan. 1 at Baylor's Floyd Casey Stadium.
Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2. The museum will be closed on New Year's Day.
Designed for visitors of all ages, the Mayborn Museum offers a variety of hands-on, interactive exhibits under one roof, including favorites from the former Strecker Museum, the Natural History Exhibits (Limestone Cave, Texas Forest, and Waco Mammoth Experience), four exploration stations (Geology, Paleontology, Natural History and Archaeology), the 13-acre Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village, and 16 themed discovery rooms on vertebrates and invertebrates, transportation, water and bubbles, energy, simple machines and more.
