Baylor Honors Outstanding Staff Members

Six Baylor University employees were recently honored with Outstanding Staff Awards during the annual service awards ceremony held in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Receiving a special certificate and a $1,000 check for their outstanding service to Baylor were Jaffus Hardrick, department of personnel services and AA/EEO and office of human relations; Joyce Miller, office of academic development services; Shari Wolda, office of university development; Connie Beran, life-long learning program and institute of gerontology; Daphne McGowen, controller's office; and Bob Baker, office of university marketing.
Employees also were recognized for 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service. Brooches were presented to women and tie tacks to men, with a diamond representing each five years of service at Baylor.
Recognized for 40 years of service to Baylor were Dr. C.W. Christian, professor and the Kidd L. and Buna Hitchcock Macon Professor of Religion; Dr. Clement T. Goode, retired professor of English; and Dr. E. Russell Lester, professor of religion and the W. Marshall and Lulie Craig Professor of Bible.
The awards ceremony has been a Baylor tradition since 1972.
